Istead: “We looked like the team we should have been all season”

A Josh Nodder penalty and a second-half strike from Parirs Dixon earned Handsworth Parramore a 2-0 victory at Staveley Miners Welfare, a result and performance which impressed Ambers Interim Manager Steve Istead, writes Ian Robinson. (Main photograph by Ken Allsebrook)

“From 1-16, it was a really good, solid performance, we looked like the team we should have been all season.”

“I really respect the Staveley lads, they try and play football and are a constant threat, but I think we worked our nuts off for each other and deserved the win for sure.”

“I never normally single lads out but Gaz Mundy has come in and showed a real desire to do well, he’s been different class. Josh Nodder has been different gear for us over the last 4/5 games as well and is causing teams all sorts of problems.”

“I want us to keep our levels up there and finish the season on a high.”
