With 13 minutes to go yesterday, FC Bolsover faced almost certain relegation from the NCEL, but two quick fire Jack Warwick goals secure three vital points over fellow relegation rivals Ollerton Town.
Manager Matthew Chatfield was confident his side would get the result in the end. “This team doesn’t know when to quit. The team spirit they have is amazing, they all knew how big today’s game was and they rose to the challenge.”
“The first-half I felt we cancelled each other out, however the turning point was their goalkeeper getting sent off after taking down Jack who was through on goal.”
“The second-half they had two very good chances to take the lead, but one was a great save from Adam and the other he just put it the other side of the post; we changed formation and tried a different approach and it worked. Scoring two goals both from the man in form Jack, after we went two up I felt the game was gone really as they were chasing for a goal and we caught them on the break and should have scored 1/2 more but it wasn’t to be; and we will gladly take 3 points after our recent results.”
“I felt today the game was more about the fine margins, which we took advantage of; which we have in the previous weeks. The lads have kept the dream alive for one more week at least; and one thing for sure is they are giving it their very best.”
