The last word on this weekend’s action goes to Bridlington Town’s Manager Brett Agnew, who was delighted after his sides 7-0 hammering of Eccleshill – with the legendary striker grabbing a second-half brace.
“I thought we were back to our best Saturday, making a tough, well-drilled Eccleshill side look very average. We decided to change the formation from the last three games and I thought that balanced our team out a little, which helped us in the attacking side that had been lacking in the last few games.”
“I’ve said before, we can do that to any team in this league – when we want to. To be honest we should have done it a lot more this season. Our defence was solid and we picked the right time to play and also get rid.”
“The front three were working well for each other and Joe Mcfadyen was unplayable, it was good to have his qualities back in the team. I’ve missed the scoring feeling and it was good to get my first goals at home as well. I thought the difference was Stu Oliver and Andy Norfolk, they worked their socks off, winning every 1st and 2nd ball. They passed the ball through their defence, which just made the game look simple, exactly what a Captain should do, lead by example!”
