Millington feels they owe EYC one after their reversal defeat

The finish line is in sight for Chris Millington and his over-achieving Dronfield Town squad. They sit sixth in Toolstation NCEL Division One, and welcome thirteenth-placed East Yorkshire Carnegie to the HE Barnes Stadium tomorrow evening looking to consolidate a best-ever League position in their six years in the NCEL.

To do so though, they’ll have to get the better of a Carnegie side who underlined their recent fine form with that goal-less home draw with title contenders Hallam on Saturday – so you can be sure that Chris won’t be letting his players even think about where the speedos and flip-flops are anytime soon, writes Colin Muncie.

Chris admitted to TBG that Dronfield’s 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture a month ago is still fresh in his mind. “As we move into the final four games of the season, it is important that we don’t slip into the comfort zone and become complacent, as we are on a pretty good run. The lads are well aware that their hard work has put us in this position; and that the top six is a real possibility and a win on Tuesday would be massive for us.”

“We owe Carnegie one from when we played at their place – but we know it’s not going to be an easy ninety minutes.”
