Sibson delighted as unbeaten run lengthens

Ashley Flynn’s 36th and 37th goal of the season alongside a Jason St Juste first-half goal was enough to see Yorkshire Amateur defeat at Hall Road Rangers 3-0 at the Southerns Stadium.

Joint Manager Neil Sibson was delighted with the win which saw his side leap-frog Hemsworth into 6th position. “I am very happy with our performance throughout the team. Hall Road were not coming to lie down as Goole didn’t a couple of weeks back, they are both needing the points to stay in the division.”

“Credit to them, they threw bodies forward in search of an early goal but to be totally honest I thought we controlled the game for the last 80 minutes and could have scored a couple more, but we will take the victory with two more goals for Flynny which takes him onto 39 (Editors note: 37 according to NCEL website) for the season; not bad for a lad who it was said would struggle at this level. Now move on to another tough game midweek against Thackley away.”

“I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Worksop and Penistone on their winners and runners up spot this year well done to Craig, Ian and their lads and all involved.”

“We are also very pleased with our first season in this division and we will be trying our best to make sure we go out on a high in our remaining games starting Tuesday.”
