Dodsworth squashes recent rumours ahead of weekend test

Nostell Miners Welfare travel to Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday aiming to finish off their most successful season in years on a high, as they are guaranteed at least a 5th placed finish in Division One, writes Ian Robinson.

Manager Jason Dodsworth was in good form despite his sides midweek loss to Winterton Rangers when we spoke to him. “We want to finish with two wins now after Wednesday’s defeat. I’m sure our lads will want to put things right on Saturday, and if we play to the levels of our first-half performance and take our chances, then there’s a strong possibility of coming away with three points.”

“Armthorpe have some good players though and will pose a difficult test for us, so we need to be at our best. Hopefully we have earned an FA Cup place for next season at Nostell and that will be great news for the club.”

“I don’t know if I’ll be at the game on Saturday though, as I might need to do some overtime at work, because apparently I pay the players out of my own pocket according to some comments I heard on Wednesday night hahahahaha!”

Ever the gentleman, Jason finished on a personal note, adding, “there’s only a couple more write ups to go and we can all have a rest and refresh our brains. I always try to give an honest reflection of games to yourself and I think it’s great what you publish and it’s always good to read other Managers thoughts on games, so I would like to say a big thank you to Craig and the publishers of The Bootiful Game and keep up the good work.”
