Millington expects another tough afternoon & took time out to acknowledge the contribution made at every level of his club

An important fixture at both ends of Toolstation NCEL Division One tomorrow, as 17th-placed Ollerton Town look to build on that crucial away win at Harworth Colliery last Saturday – and put more daylight between themselves and the relegation battle below them – when they head to over-achieving, sixth-placed Dronfield Town at the always-hospitable HE Barnes Stadium. For their part, the home side will be looking to put a headlock on that sixth place – and Dronfield Manager Chris Millington, expecting another tough afternoon, took time out to acknowledge the contribution made at every level of his club, writes Colin Muncie.

“It’s our final home game of what has been a really positive season for us,” Chris told TBG. “The support we have had from the local community and people within the club this season has been excellent; and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us in any way this season. Big thanks to the team behind the team, Mike (Payne) Les (Benn), Rich, Steve, Lindsey and Andrew and many others who work tirelessly to ensure that we are constantly improving the ground and ensuring everyone enjoys their visit to it.”

Chris has a great deal of time for Dave Winter, Steve Bodle and their players. “Saturday sees us up against Ollerton and a Management team that I think a lot of,” Chris acknowledged. “They had a massive result last week and they will be looking for another win to absolutely guarantee their NCEL status for next year. We’ve had a decent break this week, after a hectic schedule in the last three weeks, and I will just ask the lads to be braver on the ball, and go and enjoy the game.”

“I think a win will guarantee a top 8 finish for us – which is above our pre-season expectations – but we know we will be pushed to the limit, as we always are, against Ollerton.”
