Plenty left for Hemsworth Miners Welfare to play for in the next week or so; they sit sixth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division with a chance of third place if results go their way, and they have an NCEL League Cup semi-final with Champions Worksop Town at the Distant Futures Stadium at the end of April.
Today, though, they welcome 19th-placed Hall Road Rangers to Fitzwilliam; the Haworth Park side are level on points with Goole AFC ,just a point above bottom side Harrogate Railway Athletic, and arrive in Hemsworth after a 9-1 drubbing at the hands of Liversedge in midweek; but if you think Wells Manager Wayne Benn believes that the points are in the bag tomorrow, you are very much mistaken ,writes Colin Muncie.
“We are preparing for a tough game tomorrow when we host Hall Road Rangers” Wayne told the Bootiful Game.”We are fully aware of their League position and the fact they have had a couple of heavy defeats recently but every game is different and I’m sure (Manager) Bill (Gill) will want to see a reaction and some pride from his players. They are fighting for their lives and that makes them dangerous; and if we don’t approach the game professionally then we will cause ourselves problems”.
“The season is not dead for us and I’ll constantly be reminding the lads of that.”
