Tough night ahead for Hallam as they face South Yorkshire derby against Parkgate

It’s derby day in South Yorkshire tomorrow as 3rd placed Hallam make the 15 mile journey to face Parkgate in 9th spot, with The Countrymen still in with an outside chance of promotion, albeit that dream could well be over come 9.30 this evening if they do not match Grimsby Borough’s result, writes Ian Robinson.

[Note: second place is all Hallam could achieve after Campion’s draw last night, which as promotion is based on Points-Per-Game throughout the country for second place, promotion would seem unlikely but not improbable as The FA could change certain aspects in next few weeks).

Joint Manager Stephen Whitehead knows the enormity of the task awaiting his side, telling us, “It’s a must win game to keep our hopes alive. We need to go there and do something that not many have done since Andy Dawson took over, and that’s win, and that’s credit to him as he’s done a great job.” “We want to definitely finish on a high,” added Scott Bates, “but it’s a tough game ahead, we’ll prepare as we always do, and the key for me is work rate as the lads know.”
