Grimsby Borough ‘keeper Scott Drury made his 29th league appearance of the season, and what a fine display it was from the shot stopper.
Drury made three fine saves during their 4-2 win over Campion at the weekend to secure promotion to the NCEL top flight, at the third attempt and he is delighted.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’d actually prepared for the worst after the last 2 year’s play-off results. Chuffed for Baz (Daniel Barrett) & Lids (Andy Liddle). You don’t realise sometimes until after how much it means to someone and I could see that in Baz & Lids faces, as well as the rest of the boys for that matter!”
“I am so lucky to be able to spend Saturday’s with loads of close mates and now to be successful. The lads were unreal yesterday, the build up for the first goal was a delight to witness. I cannot thank Dave Fenwick, the Managers and the rest of the staff enough for making it happen.”
“It’s been a tough season and we just about hung in there, at times I thought we’d gone! Best of luck to Campion, a good set of lads and I hope they stick together and go for promotion again next year.”
“Now we have a holiday to look forward to next week in Spain – and this time we don’t have the playoffs looming over us for when we get back.”
“Finally a big thanks to you guys. Some of the images from Saturday helped capture special moments we will cherish for years!”
