East Yorkshire Carnegie ended their second campaign in the NCEL with a narrow 1-0 defeat at Parkgate, but they finished the season in a much improved 14th place and plenty to build on in 2019-20, writes Ian Robinson.
EYC Manager Leon Sewell thought Saturday’s game should have been a draw as he told us, “A point apiece would have been sufficent. I actually thought we played some really good football which forced our hosts to change formation. We did everything but score and my players also put their bodies on the line. However, well played to Andy, Lee and the Parkgate players on their victory.”
“It’s been a great season for us despite the ups and downs, and has been a little bit inconsistent at times, however we’ve opened up since the turn of 2019 and jumped up the League with a very respectable finish.”
“Thanks to the East Yorkshire Carnegie supporters and to my Assistant Manager Chris Burke, all the players, volunteers and my Chairman Dave Reader, massive thanks for the time and effort you all put on our football pitch.”
We here at The Bootiful Game would like to add our thanks to Leon who is always one of the first Managers to make contact after a game, win or lose.
