BREAKING NEWS! NCEL Division One Chairman steps down, they change their name & announce new man at helm!

Within the last few minutes we have received news from NCEL Division One side East Yorkshire Carnegie that their Chairman Dave Reader, has stepped down and is to be replaced by former North Ferriby United owner Jamie Waltham. They have also announced that they will be changing their name to East Hull FC from 2019/20.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have taken the difficult decision to resign as Chairman, Club Secretary and Treasurer as of East Yorkshire Carnegie at the end of the 1st teams 2018/19 season.

I would like to firstly congratulate the clubs NCEL Division One team in not only retaining their league status but with new Managers for the 2018/19 season in Leon Sewell, Chris Burke, Chris Shenton and Charlie Clucas now taking the club into is highest ever finish. The Club is a small but friendly club with very little history and with no player’s budget has surpassed my expectations and exceeded what I believed could be achieved.

Leon and Chris I believe where an excellent addition to the club for 2018/19 after taking the reins from Jonny Ricardo and Lewis Sarel after the 2017/18 season doing fantastically well to keep EYC up during our 1st season in NCEL and then stayed on as players this season and helped secure this year’s highest ever finish and would personally like to say a huge thank you to every one of the managers and players for your trust and belief in the club and myself I am truly thankful to you all.

There are many reasons for my decision including family, work commitments and hasn’t been an easy one to make or to write today but In the 3 years since I and Jamie created the club it has had great support and backing from supporters, players, league representative’s and many more . The Journey has been very tiring but yet rewarding few years but the saying is “all good things must come to an end” .

Since my written resignation we had been searching to fulfil the roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and originally did have some interested parties but after various meetings these where not deemed not suitable in what I believe the club has become and built its reputation within the football league and as we are all aware the club originally was created by myself and Jamie Waltham until he took over at North Ferriby. The club (North Ferriby) has since gone into Liquidation and therefore will no longer exist. I spoke with Jamie at length regarding the future of East Yorkshire Carnegie and the possibilities of him being involved with East Yorkshire Carnegie to help build and sustain the club and therefore has agreed to become Chairman for next season and ensure the club are represented not only at NCEL Level but throughout the whole club.

With this in mind we also discussed option’s to help develop and to grow the club in numbers, stature and therefore suggested a change of name to represent the area of which East Yorkshire Carnegie play and have therefore agreed and informed the league and local East Riding County F.A  of not only the personnel changes and structure of East Yorkshire Carnegie that Jamie Waltham will become Chairman and Dave Reader will resign from all positions within the club but will now play there football under the name of East Hull F.C.

Last note is I would like to thank most of all my beautiful family Kirsty Reader , Charlie Reader and my own little volunteer and boy Taylor who not only supported me but helped me to enjoy  my passion for local grassroots football allowing me to be away from the family home and to stay up working to keep the club going and I’m eternally grateful and love you all.

For any reason you would like to have a chat regarding the club or the available roles that may be available to assist Jamie he can be reached at jamie@infinite-services.co.uk
