Norther Ferriby United were liquidated over a £7,000 debt in March but since then, work has been ongoing to re-establish a club within the non-league pyramid.
Plans have been given the official go-ahead, with The FA accepting the application lodged by the club’s former chairman Les Hare for a North Ferriby FC to start play next season.
Hare was chairman for 22 years before his departure in 2015 and is joined by local residents and business figures in launching the club. The team will play in the Northern Counties East League and at the Church Road ground.
“It is wonderful to be back at the club my wife Gill and I devoted over 20 years of our lives to,” said Hare.
“We would like to think we set the highest standards in terms of local football.
“It’s incredible to think that this year our community can celebrate 100 years of football in North Ferriby, which given recent events, we, as a club, are so proud they will now have the opportunity to do.”
