After nearly 4 years at the club and 3 years as First Team Manager at Hall Road Rangers, Manager Bill Gill has left the club by mutual consent.
A statement from Gill says, “Today after long discussions the club and myself have mutually agreed to go separate ways.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years at the club where I’ve experienced promotion from Division 1 and retained status in the prem and ultimately this year relegation.
I believe we have done remarkably well given the circumstances. Personally I’ve gained satisfaction helping local players and giving an opportunity for young players to develop and progress to play higher level football.
I have also helped create aspiration at the club in all youth teams by progressing several players within the club, that are now holding their own at this level, and will continue to develop and play higher.
Thanks to all the fans and volunteers at the club that assisted me during my time. A massive thanks to Andy Watts and Harry Stanforth for their dedication and commitment assisting me over the last two seasons.
Most importantly the lads on the pitch that give it their all every week in games and at training. They are the reason us Managers turn up week in week out.
All the best to the club and the new management team in their new journey. I will always have an eye on their results and have been fortunate to represent them as first team Manager and first team coach.”
Chairman Darren Sunley said, “I see Bill as a true friend, in football you meet many people and everyone moves around. Bill has been a great asset to the club and I am sure we will meet again in football and it will be a pleasure.”
“Bill has been a stalwart supporter of the club and has had 1445 days at the club with 1080 in charge. Bill has also backed all decisions made by the board and he has fantastic drive and aspirations for the future and we wish him well.
The club will be making a further announcement in due course in relation to the new Management Team.”
A huge thank you to Bill Gill for all his contributions to The Bootiful Game and we wish him all the best.
