Emley AFC were placed into the North West Counties at the weekend for the 2019/20 season after 13 years in the NCEL, and they have just announced their decision with regards to an appeal.
“Emley AFC will NOT be appealing the FA’s decision to transfer the club laterally to the North West Counties Football League.
The club felt an appeal was unlikely to succeed and the ensuing uncertainty would harm our preparations for next season.
So it is goodbye to the NCEL, a league of which the original Emley was a founding member in 1982. Our thanks and best wishes to everyone connected to the league and all clubs past and present.
Now it’s hello to the NWCFL. We look forward to visiting new grounds and welcoming many new visitors to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground.”
