Leading scorer leaves Worksop Town

It has been a difficult few days for Worksop Town. Not only have they lost their long unbeaten run in all competitions with the weekend FA Cup Extra-Preliminary Round loss to Melton Town – but they have lost club captain Daniel Patterson and now Matthew Sykes.

Patterson’s departure was confirmed on Saturday following his refusal to come on during the second half in Saturday’s defeat, whilst Sykes confirmed: “Unfortunately, circumstances have dictated that I need to play somewhere closer to home.”

This Tigers start their Norther Premier League campaign on Saturday when they face a trip to Loughborough Dynamo in the South East section of the league.
