Depleted Ambers happy with point gained at Maltby

Handsworth Parramore fought out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Maltby Main despite some last minute selection problems as Joint Interim Manager, Steve Istead, explained to Ian Robinson.

“We got a good point today as Maltby’s a hard place to go and you always know you’ve been in a game. Myself and Froggy don’t like making excuses but we literally had 14 players available today after some lads dropped out at the last minute, but we rallied together and the attitude and desire was much better than in the last two games.”

Steve also revealed that plans are afoot to bring some new faces into his depleted squad.
“We had a good meeting with the Chairman and the Board on Thursday, and with all our injuries and departures, they are going to back us to rebuild the squad and make some additions,” said Steve, “It’s just about attracting the right type of player who are coming for the right reasons.”
