Rangers kept their head just above the choppy relegation water despite defeat

Hall Road Rangers kept their head just above the choppy relegation waters in the NCEL Premier Division despite going down 3-0 at Yorkshire Amateur, writes Ian Robinson.

Despite a fifth consecutive defeat, Rangers are still outside the drop zone thanks to Goole and Harrogate Railway Athletic’s failure to win today, and Manager Bill Gill is still in a positive frame of mind as he plots a route to survival.

“It was another free hit for us with the injuries we have, and given the circumstances, the lads have done ok today. Full credit to Yorkshire Amateur, they’re a top three side and are very good at what they do, and their hospitality was superb.”

“The message is simple now, we need to beat Liversedge on Tuesday to relegate Harrogate, and then try to take a three point advantage to Goole in the last game of the season, which has always been our aim.”
