Spink’s devastated as Harworth’s relegation confirmed!

Barring a last minute reprieve, the NCEL said goodbye to Harworth Colliery after just one season back in the fold, following a narrow defeat at Rossington Main yesterday, a Jordan Buckham strike proving to be the difference between the two sides, writes Ian Robinson.

An understandably devastated Colliery Manager Craig Spink spoke to TBG after the defeat, saying, “I can’t quite believe we didn’t do enough to stay in the League. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the fans who’ve been magnificent and again today outnumbered the home support by 5 to 1.”

“Unfortunately it was the same old story, we have the majority of possession and the best chances and walk away losing 0-1 again. I’ll take the heat for this, I’m so disappointed, I really thought that the way we’ve played and how we’ve applied ourselves, we gave it everything but wasn’t to be.”

“A massive thank you to Jonny, our Chairman, who is first class in everything he does, the fans the staff and the players. I hope we can go out on a high next Saturday at home.”
