Handsworth make key appointment…

Breaking News

Within the past few minutes NCEL Premier Division side Handsworth Parramore have announced new manager Russ Eagles new Assistant Manager.

A statement from the club says, “We welcome Luke Forgione to the club as 1st team Assistant Manager.

Luke is no stranger to the local non league scene where he played for Pontefract, Staveley, Worsborough, Glasshoughton and Ossett Albion.

Luke began to concentrate on his coaching around 3 years ago and and is a UEFA B qualified coach with a FA youth award, he also has awards in Futsal and Strength and conditioning.

Luke’s coaching career has seen him have roles at Sheffield United Academy , Shaw Lane & Worsbrough and more recently spent last season as coach /match analyst at Stocksbridge PS and still maintains his role at Barnsely College as Head Football Academy.

A delighted Russ Eagle said of this key appointment, ” Fudge (Luke) is a fantastic appointment for us , the attractive style of play he enjoys coaching is right where we want to be …his track record of developing young players through the youth transition into senior football is excellent….but over and above that ….his desire to be part of this club shone through and I cant wait to get working with him. “

We caught up with Luke late last night and asked him for his thoughts on joining up with Russ and the Ambers….”Firstly I would like to thank Russ for the opportunity to join the club as the Assistant Manager. When Russ approached me to join his staff it was a no brainer. I have respected Russ since I first met him at Pontefract Collieries. He has great experience, knowledge of Non league football and undoubtedly is a great person to learn from for my own personal development.

We have maintained a good relationship over the years and have recently become rivals in College Football, however this hasn’t effected our relationship in anyway and have been in regular contact for the past two years.Secondly but just as important, the opportunity to join Handsworth, this was a big selling point. The club is well respected and well known for its success on the pitch and in junior football, progressing children into professional clubs.During my time at Sheffield United,Handsworth was always recognised as one of the best clubs in Sheffield for progression. The infrastructure is second to none and is the true meaning of a family club.

With ambitions to continue to develop over the next few years, redevelopment etc the chance to be involved is exciting to say the least.

We hope to implement an attractive playing style that will be an identity for all the age groups, but most of all give us success on the playing field, consequently making us competitive throughout the season and lead to a successful season for all concerned.

I look forward to being part of this great club and I can’t wait to get started”

On behalf of everyone here at the Ambers we welcome Luke to the Amber Family and wish him every success in his new role.
