Sherwood Colliery frontman Kieran Wells believes the club can continue their unbeaten start for the rest of the campaign.
The Wood have yet to taste defeat this season in the league after nine games.
The club currently sit two points behind Ollerton Town with three games in hand – something that hasn’t happened by luck, says Wells.
“I believe that we can go all season, we have the best squad in this league, I really believe that,” he said.
“If we keep doing what we are good at then we could be the one team to be undefeated.
“We all have a great work ethic at the club and that alongside an amazing backroom staff makes the perfect ingredient.
“So with me, Liam [Hearn], Gaz [Curtis], Brad [Wells] and Theaks [Liam Theakstone], we have the pedigree to be ruthless in ever game that we play.
“We must keep our feet on the floor and take every game as they come.”
A brace from Wells and strike partner Liam Hearn helped see off strugglers Teversal in emphatic fashion on Monday.
“I thought we controlled the game, with games like this that we should dominate it’s so easy to lose concentration and allow silly mistakes to happen.
“But we played our football and got the job done and regarding my goals, I’m happy that I can help the team win games along with the other players in the squad.”
Despite everchanging restrictions, fans were allowed in until this afternoon’s announcement from the government.
But Wells reckons fans in attendance was good while it lasted.
“The fans are amazing,” he said. “It’s so nice to see people back and also giving you banter. I have missed hearing everyone!
“All I say is enjoy it as much as you can because with these worrying times you never know when it will stop again.”
